We are writing to inform you that a business operator, who is not a designated registered store of the Council, has been selling Kobe Beef and Tajima Beef using the name of the specified agricultural, forestry and marine products “Kobe Beef and Tajima Beef” applied for by the Council without our permission.

 

In Japan, Kobe Beef and Tajima Beef are protected by the “Act on the Protection of Geographical Indications”. Continuing to use and sell the names “Kobe Beef” and “Tajima Beef” without joining our council is an act of trampling on the history and culture that this council has spent many years protecting and nurturing.

 

The Council does not permit anyone other than the designated registered dealers to sell Tajima Beef and Kobe Beef.

Please purchase Tajima beef and Kobe beef at the designated stores with bronze statues.

We hope you will continue to patronize Tajima beef and Kobe beef, which are important specialties of Hyogo Prefecture in Japan.
